Gift for Grandma

Stephen’s mom celebrated a birthday recently. The kids each made a stepping stone for her garden. I think they turned out pretty well. Zachary’s was made first. I followed the directions to the letter. I didn’t realize how humid it was! I should have reduced the amount of water used to mix the stone. His didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked. His little foot prints kept getting filled with moisture. I think I managed to salvage it though. Emily helped put the stones in as well. Emily did hers pretty much on her own. She’s quite crafty! I helped her place some of the stones but she did most of it herself.

The kids celebrated Grandma’s birthday with some ice cream and opening presents. I don’t have any pictures of the festivities. I had the pleasure of waiting at home for the air conditioner repair man. Our a/c went out! We didn’t realize it until 4:30 pm (of course) and the house was 83. Luckily it was an easy fix so I got some ice cream as well!

We also gave grandma a frame with a picture of the kids. Both of the kids are ham bones!

A visit among cousins

Emily and Zachary LOVE their cousins. Chloe and Cole came to visit a few weeks ago. Emily was excited for DAYS prior! Chloe is one of her favorite kids in the world. They act more like brothers than cousins. Brothers?? Yes. They wrestle and play rough! I don’t know if they even know how to play “nicely” together. Zachary is always enamored with Cole. Someone his size is always fascinating.

The kids always have a good time together. It was pretty funny when the girls got quiet and I went to check on them. Emily’s door was closed. Chloe was sitting in front of the toy bins playing and Emily was laying on her bed resting! That’s when you know she’s tired!
