Love Overflowing

7 Years

on August 20, 2010

Stephen and I celebrated our anniversary last week. 7 years on 8/9/10. Bought a lotto ticket…donated a buck to the state.

Can you ever forget the day you got married? Certainly not! It is one of the most special occasions in your life. The words “I do” hold special meaning. These two words bear the responsibility of a lifetime of togetherness.

It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages. I am blessed that I married my best friend. The past seven years have been great. We work through our differences and make it work. I love my husband more now than I do the day I met him. He has been there through the good times and the bad. Tears of sadness and tears of joy. It’s hard to believe that we have been married seven years..

One of the great illusions of our time is that love is self-sustaining. It is not. Love must be fed and nurtured, constantly renewed. That demands ingenuity and consideration, but first and foremost, it demands time.
